Luxury Brand Deals I Would Like To See From; Stray Kids
With Lee Felix being announced as a “Hera” ambassador recently, many “Stay” online have been joking that they will wake up in the morning and Felix will have stolen their jobs, due to his ever-growing empire of brand deals and contracts. He is now an ambassador for Hera, UNICEF, Samsung, Gentle Monster, Louis Vuitton, and many more.
However, Felix isn’t the only member of Stray Kids who is an ambassador for luxury brands, with fellow dance line member Hyunjin being named the “Prince of Versace.” Stray Kids leader, Chan, has been very active as an ambassador for Fendi this year, along with Lee Know actively promoting Gucci as a global ambassador. The two youngest members, Seungmin and I.N. also promoting this year as ambassadors for Burberry and Bottega Veneta, respectively.
Some - a very small selective few - have been complaining due to Han and Changbin not being ambassadors for luxury brands.
This got me thinking, what collaborations would Stay like to see between Stray Kids members and luxury or bigger, known brands. Below are collaborations I believe would make sense between the members’ characters and brands themselves, while also considering if the fans of such members would buy these products.
Adidas X I.N.
As one of, if not the most vocal, members when it comes to fashion, I.N. has been seen constantly sporting the Adidas in both his professional and personal style. His interest in fashion and never-ending wardrobe includes multiple Adidas jackets. It is also no secret that I.N. has an interest in shoes, which could lead to a great collaboration with Adidas X I.N. jackets and shoes.
A sports wear collaboration also makes sense for a group such as Stray Kids, who are known for their incredible choreography. The comfortable yet stylish jackets are on brand for I.N.’s personal style and are an article of clothing that fans can wear in their day-to-day lives. It is a globally known brand, on top of the sports wear industry - a collaboration such as this would benefit both parties. With Adidas further pushing their products into Asia, particularly the idol scene, which is full of dancers. It would also be reaching the Kpop Fan market, where many fans would want to wear similar, if not the same, outfits as their favourite idols. Fans would be more likely to buy from this global brand, which is less expensive compared to the luxury brands that idol normally collaborate with. On the I.N. party side, it would be a foot in the door of the sports wear industry. We are used to seeing idols promote luxury brands, cars, or makeup - so a collaboration with sports wear would make I.N. reach an entirely new audience of athletes, sportswear wearers, and a more affordable market.
Gentle Monster X Han
Gentle Monster has grown massively in popularity in recent years, with collaborations with Jennie and having idols such as Stray Kids, Felix as an ambassador. The glasses brand is known for this crazy experience and marketing. Not only are their glasses full of interesting designs and trending frames, but also the experience that Gentle Monster sets up is crazy.
While many of the members have been seen in glasses, Han often posts himself wearing glasses and keeps. Stay updated on when he gets new frames or glasses. Many fans are in love with how Han looks in glasses, and often their X, formerly known as Twitter, timelines are flooded when he uploads a selfie with glasses.
A collaboration between Han and Gentle Monster would be an incredible cross of audiences as their audience are already interlinked due to Felix being an ambassador for Gentle Monster. This collaboration could also lead to “Sunshine twin duo” content - the duo name between Han and Felix, a pair that many fans adore seeing together. Fans are more likely to buy the product with two members are involved in the company. On Gentle Monster’s side, they can continue to grow their audience within the Kpop Fan audience and create new experiences surrounding a Han themes collaboration. Gentle Monster is known for their massive events and props; a collaboration with Han could lead to multiple rooms of the experience. Each room could serve as an experience for some of Hans’ solo music, such as “Alien”, “Happy”, “Volcano”, and “Hold My Hand”.
YSL X Seungmin
Have you checked out YSL menswear recently? If not yet, I’ll attach some of their outfits below.
Seungmin' s recent Burberry outfits, including his most recent photoshoot for Burberry and his mesh shirts for their DominATE tour, have made me realise how well a collaboration between Seungmin and YSL menswear would be such an unseen yet impactful move. Seungmin already has a foot in the fashion industry through Burberry and Loewe; a collaboration with YSL would only further his name within the fashion industry.
YSL is also no stranger when it comes to working with Kpop idols; Blackpink’s Rose is seen as the face of YSL. YSL has also worked with male Kpop Idols such as EXO’s Kai and SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan.
Vivienne Westwood X Han
The fact that this hasn’t already happened is so shocking. Han also expressed his interest in Vivienne Westwood on a number of occasions. He has been seen wearing Vivienne Westwood in his personal style multiple times, including in the photo I attached above when talking about him and Gentle Monster. Stray Kids’ stylists have also put Han in some more outstanding Vivienne Westwood pieces. In his professional life, the pieces he wears are more recognizable pieces of Westwood’s typical style, while in his personal life, Han seems to mix his interest in the brand and his need for comfort in his own style. Many of his own personal pieces of Vivienne Westwood include t-shirts and hoodies.
Han styled in his professional life
Han styled in his personal life.
It is also worth mentioning that one of Hans’ favourite pieces of media is an anime called “Nana” - which constantly refers to Vivienne Westwood by name. With one of the main characters, Nana, pointing out a Vivienne Westwood lighter by name within the first episode. Basically, every character in this show complains about being poor in their early twenties while decked out in Vivienne Westwood. Han has been seen wearing t-shirts with Nana on it and spoken about this show a number of times throughout the years.
JO Malone X Chan
Chan is so organized and particular in his day-to-day life, it would not come off as a shock if he were to do a collaboration with a cologne brand. Jo Malone is a very modern brand of scents.
From what I can find Jo Malone has yet to collaborate with a Kpop Idol, so this could open them to an entirely new audience. They have, however worked alongside Korean Actor, Kim Soo Hyun.
Nacific X Hyunjin
Do you remember when Kendall Jenner went viral for how she held a knife when trying to cut a cucumber? With netizens online making fun of her? Then you may also remember that it led to an AD with Uber Eats. That is what I would like to see between the Korean skincare brand Nacific and Hyunjin.
Hyunjin went viral among fans online when a video of him washing his face during a vlog was uploaded.
Nacific is a Korean skin care brand that many of the Stray Kids members have mentioned using. It would create a viral moment for both the brand and Hyunjin if they collaborated and Hyunjin recreated his iconic messy makeup removing routine as part of the advertisement. It would also come across as a genuine endorsement of the product due to the fact that Stray Kids have mentioned the brand before.
This collaboration would make sense as their audiences have interlinked before, during the Nacific X Stray Kids collection, which included special photocards, toners, creams, serum, and sheet masks.
For now, that is all the possible collaborations I think Stays would enjoy seeing. If any more come to mind, make sure to let us know so we can include all members in the next part! As always, thank you for reading.
