my dream shoe collection.
Tired of pairing that same pair of runners or black Vans with every outfit? Never knowing how to elevate your outfit? Shoes can often be overlooked when it comes to fashion and upscaling an outfit. Often overshadowed by accessories such as necklaces and bows, however, shoes can make or break an outfit.
As a broke college student who doesn’t have the funds to create her dream wardrobe and collection, here is my dream shoe collection. Hopefully give you inspiration for your own collection or Pinterest board.
Simulacrums Plaid Mary Janes - Green from KOI
These “Monster High” inspired Mary Janes are a dream come true for little eight-year-old me, who was deadly jealous of her doll’s shoes. The green tartan pattern reminds me slightly of a Vivienne Westwood print. Combining two of my favourite fashion icons, Vivienne Westwood and Frankie Frankenstein.
The silver stud and safety pin buckle details would be ideal with all my silver statement jewellery pieces. The perfect pair of Mary Janes for your typical girl who obsesses over coloured tights, girls and short skirts.

Sweet Obsession Knee-High Lace Up Boots - Chocolate from Vina of the Valley
If these boots never end up in my collection, I have failed at any sort of fashion dream I may have. The details on these boots are simply to die for. With dreamy white lace peeking out from the knee-high brown boots. Floral cut-outs all along the leg, supported by a block heel of 10cm. The brown ribbon and lace-up at the front not only ties together the cute look, but also is adjustable for comfort.
Spring Summer 2009 Brown Heels from Prada
Keeping up with the brown heels paired with white lace. These Prada Spring Summer 2009 collection heels, which I have searched the internet high and low for with little success. Oh, to be a fashion girlie in the Spring of 2009, walking around listening to “You Belong With Me” for the first time in my elegant, casual chic, looking heels, paired with a dainty ankle. The white ruffles around the heels are really what sold it for me, with tiny white bows on the front.
“Cupid’s Ballerina” Heart Platform Lace Up Shoes - Powder Pink from Vina of the Valley
Back with Vina of the Valley because god damit their shoe designs stick in my brain and refuse to leave. Each design looks straight out of a character design. A lover’s girl’s dream, these heels have a lace-up to your knees, which has been noted they can be hard to tie. While the heel itself is only about 4 inches, the lace going up the leg gives an illusion of height. The heel has a cutout of a heart.
Kitten Mules from Miu Miu
I haven’t the actual name of this pair as I found them on a second-hand website, and have yet to be able to find them elsewhere. The denim look paired with the pink accents of the bows on the front is a beautiful colour combination and pleasing on the eye.
Tira Ruffle Mary Janes Dark Delights Edition from KOI
Mary Janes should be a staple in every shoe lover’s collection, and these black Mary Janes are perfect. Not too out there but not too plain. Black transparent ruffles all along the sides, because more shoes need ruffles. A glistening buckle stands out in comparison to the all black look, with a black bow sat on the front of the shoes.
