3;36 AM - ER visit

Swinging our feet off the ER bed, matching shoes slid on as blisters bubbled with anger. Giggling behind the privacy curtain as we were left alone. Listening to the loud smokers snoring, as we whisper about the young man in the ER, covered head to toe in his own blood. His girlfriend’s expression with his hand in hers and his blood-stained jacket in her other hand.

Sat, swinging our feet - gossiping, giggling, as if these walls aren’t where life starts and ends. As if you aren’t burning, blistering, bubbling.
