Language Learning

Learning his mother tongue

Can be beautiful.

Mumbling, motions among

Other things to get it right.

Sounds I've never made

Before effortlessly slip.

Foreign vowels decayed

Out of my mouth, moaning

As I get it wrong.

He kissed my ear,

Stringing sentences along.

Flustered face when I

First spoke with his

Tongue in mine.

Scattered sheets, "quiz

Me" whispered into his ear.

As he taught me

A new way of life
